Senior Support Worker
Location: Abbots Langley
In these vital, front-line roles, you’ll take support plans for adults with varying needs and implement them, giving each person you support the most independent, diverse and satisfying life possible.
This job is all about helping people make their own choices and live with dignity and joy, but also about personal care and daily living needs in residential homes.
Your role will include supporting people with:
- Personal and intimate care
- Moving and handling
- Eating and drinking
- Household tasks – shopping, cooking and cleaning
- Taking medication (under supervision)
- Taking part in meaningful daily activities
- Health programmes such as physical exercise and healthy eating
- Emotional support and encouragement
Our staff work patterns are determined by the needs of the people you are supporting. This will mean working shifts, weekends and bank holidays. For some roles you may need to sleep in and be available (on call).
You will need:
- Willingness to do personal care
- Ability to work weekends and bank holidays
- To be happy working shifts (early start, late finishes or nights)
- A commitment to learn on the job and through training
- (For senior support workers) – NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent

- English Fluency: The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
